2 year old samsung elec. dryer model dve45n5300va3 with steam the drum will not stop and no heat i have to turn off the breaker to make it stop ... samsung: my dryer is running and not heating. took out heating element and thermostat and sensor. went to evansville appliance amp; parts they checked continuity and all was fine.

Aug 05 2011 if i remember correctly the old not whirlpool made maytag dryers had a wire that would go to the sensor that was located in the front of the dryer. you would have to unplug this wire when removing the front of the dryer to work on it. if you forgot to plug the wire back in the dryer would run for only a short time too before turning off.
Aug 12 2010 i have tested the thermistor which tests fine as well 10k ohms at room temperature and 1k ohms when heated with a hair dryer. the heater also tests at 10k ohms and looks fine. i did notice that in the ten seconds the dryer runs that the heater does not start to glow. not sure if that is long enough or not.
