Oct 25 2011 i have a old probably 1950's 6 century bench grinder. i would like to get a 6 or 8 grinder with the wheels mounted further from the motor. any thoughts on how much horsepower for occasional home use. mine is rated at 14 hp 3450 rpm. but that is a real 14 hp at 4 amps. probably call that 13 hp today. bill d.
